It's good to be back

Well, after 6 months of off the grog I'm drinking beer and wine again...yeah. That also means I can move ahead with the V1 Brewery projects which had sadly been placed on hold until now. 1st up, unpack the new March 809 pump and get the stainless fittings attached. Next project, getting the Crankenstein 3D mill up and running. I'll be using my old fermenting cupboard to house the mill, the top being the hopper and the bottom where the motor and crushed grain is collected. The motor was a real pain to get a mount onto as the mounting holes only take M5 bolts. The first job was to cut part of the cooling fin away so I could get the bolt into it's hole Then it was a case of making a mount for the motor using some aluminium angle then attaching a batten of wood The motor has been placed on a adjustable mount. The central batten the motor sits on is about 1mm shallower than the 4 chocks of wood around it, thus when the bottom nut is tightened/loosened tension is applied/removed to the motors batten and the motor can move up and down. This has been done so when the drive belt wears and slackens I can re-tension the belt without having to re position the motor. More to follow.
