Brew Day 2/2013
Brew 2, a premium/special bitter, nothing too special really malt wise, pale, crystal and wheat. Looking forward to it, getting the 60ltr conical Christened and using sugar points again to sparge.
Malt all weighed out and a not so great picture of the grain crush from the Crankenstein mill...don't know what's up with this ruddy camera!
Started at 8am finished for 12...now that's a brew day. All went to plan except a higher boil off rate than expected so will have to liquor back slightly.
So the customary pics
The 5kg mash all lost in a 80ltr thermobox,
pid temps
1st runnings,
The hops a waiting
1st wort hopping
Fierce boil
Knocked an element off and ran on one with lid ajar
Ball valves a boiling
Waiting for re-assembly
Racking to conical with lots of aeration
Empty boiler
Nice colour wort
Currently sat at 20.5 deg in the fv and almost finished. This brew's throwing a lot of Sulphur!
